WHY Nüdel?

Nüdel resources are evidence-based loose parts, free-play and development tools in the form of mobile carts, that quickly convert to a therapeutic play space. They have been specifically designed from the ground up with and for HCP’s to be their hard working assistant.

Nüdels are reconfigurable in infinite ways to support HCP’s in observation, assessment and the therapeutic support of the child.

They allow HCP’s to create on-the-spot, appropriate and challenging experiences, to support children with a range of challenges to improve skills and learn to thrive. Their specifically crafted materials can be pulled-apart, manipulated, and redesigned into infinite creations, to unlock the highest forms of learning in a package that is easy to use for the busy HCP.

NÜDEL ROVER

Designed for groups of up to 8 children, from the mobile allied health therapist to the clinical psychologist, Nüdel Rover offers a reliable, ready to use, free-play development tool. Transportable in the back of a hatchback, Nüdel Rover supports therapists no matter where they work, even if they work in 10 different locations a week.

Highly versatile by nature, Nüdel Rover succeeds as an effective health initiative for therapeutic spaces – from the clinic, to schools, to community centres, to name a few; and with its modern and neutral aesthetic, Nüdel Rover is a respectable addition to any contemporary clinic space.

who can use it?

Occupational Therapists / Psychologists / Psychiatrists / Doctors Surgeries / Hospitals
Picture
Nüdel embraces the power of child-led, experiential learning and its ability to guide development. The addition of loose-part materials with no set purpose to a child's environment stimulates curiosity, allowing for a child’s full immersion into their  imagination and creativity.

Nüdel parts deliberately look like nothing you have ever seen before, which prompts the universal response for the child to create their own meaning, eliciting deep and long term imaginative and creative engagement.

INCLUSIVE

Picture
Unlike fixed play equipment and toys with a single closed-ended purpose, Nüdel resources allow the child to create their space each time they are opened, that works with and challenges any ability. If the space is not working for them, they created it and they can change it to meet their needs.

EVENING THE PLAYING FIELD
Nüdel holds the inclusive vision that all children will thrive through free-play and responsive adult caregiver relationships regardless of culture or capability. Designed, prototyped and trialed in some of the most divergent contexts on earth, Nüdel is backed by hundreds of hours of trials in crowded refugee camps with children living in conflict-affected and disadvantaged environments, as well as privileged western schools, where children are feeling the daily barriers of over-scheduling and a rising pressure to perform.
By its very nature, the child or children create their own balance of inclusion and challenge in a flowing and organic process”
- Marcus Veerman, Educator and Nüdel Kart CEO

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH NÜDEL

THE POWER OF LOOSE PARTS PLAY

Picture
Loose Parts is simply a name for stimulating materials that children can manipulate in endless ways. Through this process they learn the foundational principles of how the world works. Loose parts are open ended and reusable in an infinite number of ways. Unlike other educational resources that can sit unused, Nüdels allow children to have a different learning experience everyday without losing interest, making it a smart investment over the long term.

It is precisely because of their open-endedness that loose parts engage the highest forms of thinking and interaction such as creativity, problem solving, social skills and emotional intelligence. Loose parts play and Nüdel resources support STEM learning through authentic engagement in real world challenges.

Loose parts are also excellent for psycho-social support for children from traumatised and disadvantaged backgrounds allowing them to express themselves in a safe, open ended and creative environment.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAY

Evidenced Based

Picture
The amount of unstructured (real) play that children are now engaging in has decreased over time and is having an impact on child development and their future potential. For example, the ability to engage with others and believe in themselves, to communicate, focus, imagine, cooperate, negotiate and to develop their own identity and self-belief.(Grey, 2013).

Let them Explore

Picture
Children have an unstoppable urge to explore, experiment, imagine and play. Child directed play is fundamental to the healthy development and wellbeing of individuals and communities. It helps children to learn about the world around them and their place in it. When they are in a ‘play space’, they are engaged, curious and experimental. Play helps children to process what’s happening in their world. (Lester, S. and Russell, W., 2010)

Unlock Potential

Picture
When playing, children can be anyone or anything. They are problem solvers and problem posers. Play unlocks the imagination, stimulates and quenches curiosity and reveals talents. For those who have experienced trauma, they can relax, be safe and have fun while developing crucial life skills for the 21st century. (World Economic Forum, 2018)

Furthermore, Nüdel resources are game-changers for those children who don't fit the traditional mould of learning.
